On Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at 10 AM, the Joint Committee on Public Service will take public comment on the Protection of Marriage Amendment in the Gardner Auditorium of the State House.

The Protection of Marriage Amendment to the Massachusetts Constitution would reaffirm as a matter of constitutional law that marriage is a union between a man and a woman.  The hearing is the first legislative step towards placing the amendment on statewide ballot.  The Massachusetts Catholic Conference supports this measure.

You can help by taking the following steps:

1)  Please pray for a favorable hearing!

2)  Email or Call the Committee Co-Chairpersons (listed below) this week with the following brief message: 

"I support the right of the people in Massachusetts to vote on the Marriage Amendment.  Please let the people decide!"
