Foreclosure Legislation Forward!

 Massachusetts Catholic Conference

June 11, 2010

The Senate unanimously passed S2407, An Act to Stabilize Neighborhoods. A similar House bill, H4595, An Act to Stabilize Neighborhoods addresses foreclosure problems. Both bills are presently in the House Committee on Ways and Means.

Both bills are no-cost legislation and would provide needed solutions to prevent and minimize the negative impact that foreclosures have had and continue to have on homeowners, tenants, cities, towns and local communities.

For more information on these bills, please view the sample of the letter sent to legislators on this issue:  Letter to Legislators.

Please ask your State Representative to encourage Ways and Means Chairman Charles Murphy and Speaker Robert DeLeo to take prompt action and report out a bill based upon S2407 and H4595 for a House vote.

Make your local representative aware of the need for legislation to alleviate foreclosure problems and help homeowners and tenants!
