Dismas House Needs Your Support
Please Call Your State Senator As Soon As Possible!

·       Funding for Dismas House was cut from the Senate Ways and Means budget proposal.

Dismas House of Massachusetts is being held up as a model prisoner re-entry program for communities nationwide to imitate. Highlights of their important achievements can be viewed on their website, http://www.dismashouse.org/.

·       Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury) has filed amendment # 389 to restore Dismas House funding.

The Senate is scheduled to consider amendments to the Senate Ways and Means FY’10 budget starting Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

Action Steps:

1.)          Call your State Senator.  Call the main switchboard (617-722-2000) and ask to be transferred your Senator’s office.

Ask your State Senator to speak with Senate leadership to urge them to adopt amendment #389 during the Senate budget debate.  Let your Senator know you support restoring funds for Dismas House.
